About TYCOON

My name is Masa-aki Shibata, Prejident of Tycoon.
I started this company in 1988 as a project to showcase Asian beauty in all its forms.
The name "Tycoon" was chosen not only because of my aspirations, but becuase the term "tycoon" actually has the same meaning in Chinese, Japanese, and English.
It was with the idea that the Asian look can overcome national and racial barriers that I started this business. Of course, at the time, I didn't realize that "modelling" was misspelled.
Once I figured it out (since English is not my first language),
I kept it, as perhaps something catchy or "quirky" about us. Or maybe just as an insider joke.
